Spansion to Build 300mm Wafer Fab in Japan

Spansion, a flash memory joint venture between AMD and Fujitsu, has announced that it will establish a 300mm wafer production line in Aizuwakamatsu, Japan, with an investment of US$1.2 billion. The new production line, with operation slated for the second half of 2007, will use a 65nm production process initially, and move to a 45nm production process in the second half of 2008.
